The West Brom midfielder steps out against West Ham equalling Giggs’ 632 top flight games milestone.

The 36-year-old then looks to Albion’s following game with Arsenal to put himself top of the pile.

Baggies boss Tony Pulis said: “It’s a wonderful achievement. You don’t really realise how good he is until you work with him.

“We’ve only just had him here but he’s been fantastic around the place.

“It’s a privilege to work with him. He’s a great lad off the pitch and he’s been our best player in nearly every game that he’s been here.”

The England midfielder made his debut for Aston Villa in May, 1988 and went on to play for Manchester City and Everton.

Pulis added: “You just don’t play anywhere near that amount of games without being a really good player.

“There may be people outside of the clubs he’s played for who under-rate him, but just ask any of the supporters of those clubs and they’d have a different take on that.”
