Klopp revealed Philippe Coutinho is in line return to his starting line-up against Burnley on Saturday.

He said: "Coutinho should be ready. How the crowd welcomed him [during the Sevilla game], I don’t think anyone was 100 per cent sure on this. I think as a Liverpool family, we were sensitive to it.

"So far he’s been outstanding. The game was not perfect of course, but that’s how it is after a long break.

"For sure, we’re ready to think about him [playing against Burnley]."

Klopp provided an update on Nathaniel Clyne’s fitness, with the right-back yet to play this season due to a back problem.

He said: "Clyney is improving a lot and I’m not sure when he will be training completely normal, but he’ll need time for a kind of a pre-season, so that’s how it is."

In Clyne's place, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez have been rotating. Klopp offered his take on that situation too.

Klopp said: "Trent is not ready to play two games every week. He was tired against Hoffenheim [late on].

"Joe has had two similar situations, he was a bit too deep [for Sevilla equaliser]. The boys have to improve, but they are our boys. It is no problem.

"These boys are so exciting and I cannot believe we would bring a shadow of doubt to their development. They are already top-class players. What’s the problem?"

Liverpool have also alternated their goalkeepers so far this term with Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius the senior duo in the Reds' squad.

Klopp revealed Mignolet will start the Burnley match and responded to a question about Karius coming in for the Belgian against Sevilla.

Liverpool v Burnley: Jurgen Klopp provided the latest team news ahead of Saturday's showdown

He said: "Was Mignolet angry? I don’t think I said he was. Sometimes the easiest thing for me is that I am the boss and players have to take it. If I ask the GK ‘what do you think?’ If I ask Loris if he plays, he says ‘Oh that’s a good idea!’

"We need strong goalkeepers. We can’t find a new No.2 or No.3 every year.

"We have young goalkeepers in the best age and they are all ready to play. That’s how it is.

"Nobody came in my office and said: ‘Boss, you are wrong’. I am the boss and I can do it.

"Simon Mignolet is No.1. At the end of the season, he will have 80% games.

"Loris Karius was really ready for the game against Sevilla, he played really well. The crowd needs to get used to his style of play, but that’s how it is. He is in good shape."

Liverpool v Burnley: Philippe Coutinho may make his first start of the season on Saturday

Klopp believes Burnley, who sit a place above Liverpool in the Premier League, can provide a stern test for his side.

He said: “They have four points from Chelsea and Tottenham, so nobody should consider this game easy tomorrow.

“There are not a lot of easy situations you can outplay them, so we need to make the right decision. It’s really interesting to play them because they are always on a really high level, since I’ve known them.

“Maybe the best game we played against them was when we lost 2-0. It’s not that we think about these games.

“Everybody should know about this; if we are all ready for work, it can be really good.”
