Despite having 26 shots on target, Mauricio Pochettino’s men could not get the breakthrough against the Swans at Wembley on Saturday.

And now Spurs fans have had to see one of their players scoring with ease overseas.

Vincent Janssen was shipped out on loan to Turkish club Fenerbahce after the North London side secured the services of Fernando Llorente on transfer deadline day.

The Dutchman had failed to impress during his two years at Spurs following his move from AZ Alkmaar.

But he wasted no time opening his account in Turkey, scoring just 16 minutes into his debut against Alanyaspor.

Video shows the 23-year-old lurking in the box as a deep cross comes in.

The ball is headed back across goal and he is there to stab it home past the goalkeeper and send Fenerbahce into the lead.

Janssen also helped win a penalty as they strolled to a comfortable 4-1 victory.

“I think it's funny that the one weekend we desperately needed a goal both Paulinho and Janssen score,” commented one fan.

Another added: “You're kidding.”

And a third wrote: “Bring Janssen back! We could have done with 3 forwards yesterday and taken Lloris off!”
