That’s the view of Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.

Liverpool ace Coutinho handed in a transfer request this summer in hope of forcing through a move to Barca.

The La Liga giants made three bids for the Brazil international but the Reds rejected all offers.

Coutinho started his first game of the campaign on Saturday as Liverpool were held to a 1-1 draw at Anfield against Burnley.

And Balague says Barca will not return for Coutinho in the January transfer window.

He told Sky Sports: “They are not going to go for Coutinho in January.

“It’s far too early to say what might happen next summer.”

Coutinho has been vocal on his Liverpool future, revealing he’s honoured to be at Anfield.

Asked if a move to the Nou Camp could happen in the future, Coutinho said: “Not that I know of.

“What happened was a job offer and, in life, sometimes you get interested and sometimes you don’t.

“In my case, everyone knows that I got interested, my family too.

“As I have always said, it is a great offer to receive an offer from such a great club like that but it is also a great honour being here.”
