TalkSPORT presenter Alan Brazil believes the Arsenal boss is conducting some illegal transfer activity in his pursuit of the England ace.

The Gunners wanted Sterling to be part of an exchange deal that would have seen Alexis Sanchez head to City over the summer.

But that idea was rebuffed with Pep Guardiola unwilling to part with the 22-year-old.

Rumours are now circulating again that Arsenal still wanted Sterling and Brazil is not impressed by Wenger.

The former Scotland striker said: “Is that not tapping up?

“The window’s shut now so we shouldn’t be talking about this until January, should we?

“And Arsene Wenger’s always winging about tapping up.

“You know it’s illegal, it’s a joke. You should just get on with it. If you’re Sterling, how do you feel if you’re Sterling?”

The Mirror claimed this week that City are set to renew their pursuit of Sanchez in January and Sterling could be heading the other way.

It is said that a fresh bid from City is likely and Sterling could be involved to help see off interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea.
