Liverpool have endured a difficult September, failing to keep a clean sheet in any of their five games this month.

The Reds beat Leicester 3-2 at the weekend claim their first victory since August 27.

Jurgen Klopp’s defence has caught plenty of criticism recently and club legend Carragher admits he isn’t enjoying Liverpool’s high scoring games.

Carragher told Sky Sports: “I think watching Liverpool now is the hottest ticket in town. If Liverpool are on TV, everyone wants to watch.

“But I think if there is one set of supporters that aren’t being entertained by it, it’s Liverpool supporters.

“Because entertainment to me means you enjoy it. I was watching Liverpool in the pub, the game was on, it goes 2-0, it goes 3-1, no one can relax.

“Everyone is still on edge because Liverpool in their moment should be killing a team off, either being really strong defensively or saying ‘come on’ and we’ll kill you on the counter attack.

“What Liverpool do is they give them oxygen, even at 2-0 and 3-1, teams think they’ve got a chance against them because of the history they’ve shown in the last few years, they always concede goals.

“What Liverpool fans want to see is not so much 3-2s, 3-3s, as we saw at Watford, is street-wise footballers who know what they need to do to go and win a game.”

Liverpool take on Spartak Moscow in the Champions League tomorrow night.
