Spartak Moscow vs Liverpool: Mohamed Salah starts in the Champions League

Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino all start for the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp is looking for an important Champions League win after the draw last time out with Sevilla.

“He’s put out the fab four hasn’t he, the four strikers,” Thompson said on Sky Sports.

“So it is going to be very exciting, he is going for it.

“I did think he would maybe leave (Mohamed) Salah out, who’s done extremely well and scored goals, but I was thinking maybe Coutinho would play instead of him.

“You’re playing away from home in a Champions League match but he believes in his attacking philosophy and he’s going for this.

“It looks like he’s going ‘if we concede two, we’re going to score three tonight’. I do worry about it.

“I’m a defender and I would love to get a 1-0 victory tonight, it would be absolutely terrific. But Jurgen’s not like that.

“I think it’s unfortunate on Wijnaldum, I think he’s a very, very good player and very underestimated by a lot of people.

“I would have thought he may have gone for him and Can with Henderson as the holder."

Liverpool: Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Matip, Moreno, Henderson, Can, Coutinho, Salah, Mane, Firmino.

Subs: Mignolet, Flanagan, Klavan, Milner, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sturridge.
