Granit Xhaka has called upon Alexandre Lacazette to break his Arsenal away day duck

Lacazette has made an impressive start to life since his £52m summer move from Lyon.

The Frenchman has netted four Premier League goals so far, including a brace in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over West Brom last night.

But the 26-year-old is yet to fire home a goal away from the Emirates.

Arsenal midfielder Xhaka has hailed Lacazette but wants his new team-mate to find the net on the road.

The Swiss midfielder said: “He’s an important player for us.

“We know his qualities and you can see that he’s ice-cold in front of goal. Now he needs to do the same away - then I’ll be really pleased.”

Xhaka added: “I think the game against Chelsea [0-0] gave us morale and self-belief.

“We gave a good performance [against West Brom], kept another clean sheet, which is really important for us and we’re satisfied with the 2-0 scoreline.

Granit Xhaka has hailed his new Arsenal team-mate Alexandre Lacazette

“I think with these fans behind us, we can play with freedom.

“At home we’re a force, you’ve seen that in the past and today, and we’re pleased to have won at home. We need to make sure we do the same away from home.”

Lacazette will have the chance to net his first Arsenal away goal when they take on Bate Borisov in their Europa League on Thursday.
