Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has reportedly told David De Gea to reject a new Manchester United contract.

There have been reports this week that the Spanish goalkeeper will open talks soon with the Red Devils.

De Gea came close to joining Real back in 2015 but a late fax halted any hope of a move.

And according to Spanish outlet Diario Gol, Real president Perez has told the 26-year-old to snub a new contract.

The bigwig is said to be willing to match whatever wages Jose Mourinho offers De Gea at Old Trafford.

United, Manchester City and Chelsea are in the Premier League title race this season, according to Paul Scholes.

"They [Manchester City] played well and scored a lot of goals," he said.

"They have been the most entertaining team going forward in the league. But, I don't think their defence has been tested yet in this season.

"Liverpool had Mane sent off and it was a little bit easier for them. United have a team capable of scoring goals and also defending well.

"You need both aspects to win the Premier League. With City we'll have to wait and see. There is Chelsea as well, who after a slow start have picked up.

"I think so [United are title contenders]. From the first few games, they have a squad capable of winning the league.

"It's still early at the end of the day. From what I think, they have a chance of winning the league."

The Red Devils have reportedly identified Radja Nainggolan as the man to take over from Michael Carrick next season.

A source told The Sun: "Jose sent scouts to the game to look at a number of players, but most importantly Nainggolan.

"He is a big fan of his. [Antoine] Griezmann was also looked at, but we know everything we need to about him already.

"They are going to go back in for him next summer, that’s for sure. The main thing is to replace Michael Carrick, though.

"Jose had wanted to sign Nainggolan as far back as his days at Chelsea, he is that big a fan."
