Real Madrid and Barcelona will up their interest in Chelsea ace Eden Hazard if he continues to perform like he did against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last night.

That’s the opinion of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

“Yeah you need to have that confidence and that aura about you,” he told BT Sport.

“I think when he’s in that form he’s the best in the Premier League for me.

“I think performances like that in this competition, if you keep producing them on a regular basis, I mean Frank (Lampard) won’t thank me for this or the Chelsea fans, but the likes of your Real Madrids and Barcelonas come knocking.

“Liverpool have got a similar problem with (Philippe) Coutinho.

“It’s performances like that when the real big hitters come.”

Jose Mourinho has urged Manchester United chiefs to sign Sergi Roberto from Barcelona.

Spanish news outlet Don Balon say the Special One is keen to sign the versatile midfielder.

It’s suggested Mourinho is willing to give Roberto a hefty pay rise as he tries to lure him away from the Nou Camp.

The 25-year-old also only has a release clause of £37.5m which has fuelled speculation that he could be on the move sooner rather than later.

Former Arsenal star Alexander Hleb has poured cold water on the signing of Alexandre Lacazette.

He told The Independent: “The signings that did come through are good, like Alexandre Lacazette, but I can’t say that’s a ‘fantastic’ signing.

“I am a fan of Giroud and I don’t think Lacazette is better than him.

“I think the two are on the same level.”
