That’s according to former player turned pundit Jermaine Jenas.

Cazorla has been sidelined since October 2016 and the Spaniard will not be fit until at least the New Year.

His Achilles injury means he’s been omitted from Arsenal’s Premier League and Europa League squads.

Wilshere has returned to Arsenal following his loan stint at Bournemouth and is back to full fitness having broken his leg last term.

He is yet to make an appearance in the Premier League but has featured in the Europa League and Carabao Cup.

Jenas says a fit Wilshere can add a creative spark to the Arsenal midfield which is lacking with Cazorla crocked.

“He needs it (the Europa League) because it’s the only way he’s going to get minutes in an Arsenal shirt at the minute,” Jenas said on BT Sport.

“I actually think ever since the loss of Santi Cazorla in an Arsenal team, they’ve lost missed that creative element in midfield.

“If Jack can regain any type of form or fitness, we know what he can bring to the table.

“For me personally he has to start in that midfield but he has to get back to that.

“That’s why the Europa League is imperative for him, just to get those minutes.”
