The talented midfielder was shipped out on loan to the La Liga outfit in the summer.

But Alemany has confirmed the Red Devils can recall him in January if needed.

He said: “I would not have made comments, but as the other club has done, I say that it is true that there is the option to recall him in conditions that I will keep confidential, but there is a compensation for Valencia.”

Speaking earlier this month Pereira admitted he didn’t know anything about a recall clause.

He told Spanish daily Marca: “I’m focused on Valencia, I want to be here and help Valencia all year, but I don’t know what Manchester United wants in the future.

“I want to help and do the best all year in Valencia.

“I don’t know, that’s (the clause) something between the clubs, I was told I was going to play here for a year and I don’t know about that clause.”

Pereira spent last year with relegated Granada.

He made 35 appearances, scoring five goals, as the Andalusian outfit ended the season managed by Tony Adams and rock bottom of the table.

Since moving to Valencia, Pereira has made four appearances for the Spanish heavyweights.
