That's the verdict of former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson, who says the Belgium winger is a far better player than Philippe Coutinho.
Hazard was back to his brilliant best last term as Chelsea marched to a second Premier League title in three years.
And since returning from an ankle injury which ruled him out of pre-season he's proven why he's so highly-valued in west London.
Starsport columnist Merson believes Barcelona would have wanted Hazard over Liverpool ace Coutinho had he been fit this summer.
And he reckons the 26-year-old will probably leave Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
Merson told Sky Sports: "I think he's up there with one of the best in the world.
"I seriously think Real Madrid and Barcelona... If he wasn't injured, I think they would have been going for him instead of Coutinho, I really do.
"I don't think Coutinho's in the same league as Hazard, I honestly don't. I just don't see it at all.
"I mean, Atletico Madrid are renowned for stopping players from playing and they couldn't stop him [on Wednesday night]. He was just phenomenal
"I'd be shocked if he was at Chelsea next season."
