Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have given Jose Mourinho a selection headache this term

The United duo have been rotating in the left-wing role under Jose Mourinho.

Both are in fine form this season and pushing for consistent game time in the first XI.

Rashford, 19, has five goals in all competitions already as well as three Premier League assists.

Martial, 21, has seen his starts restricted with more to appearances off the bench, with Rashford prioritised so far.

But his impact has also been handy with five goals in all competitions.

And Rashford is glad the pair are both at the top of their game.

"Without it, you don't improve," Rashford said on competing with Martial.

"Young players need that sort of environment around them.

"I think we're both enjoying our football at the moment.

“We’re both having our say in the games and it's good for us, good for the manager, good for the team."

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have been big contributors to Man Utd's early progress

Rashford is now away on international duty with England.

And he admits he sees himself as more of a striker than a winger, with Romelu Lukaku leading the line at Manchester United.

But he is willing to continue showing his versatility in the short-term.

Rashford added: "I'm a striker but if you have to play elsewhere to wait for your time, so be it."
