The Gunners are fighting to get back into the top four and return to the Champions League.

Following a poor season which saw them finish fifth, Wenger’s job was on the line.

But a new two-year deal was penned earlier this year keeping him at the Emirates until the summer of 2019.

A new manager will likely come in then, and Arsenal will desire a big-name and strong figure.

However, Burnley boss Dyche could be a surprise contender off the back of his terrific job at Turf Moor.

The Clarets sit sixth in the Premier League table and only a point behind fifth-placed Arsenal.

Despite a limited budget, Dyche has now established Burnley as a Premier League club.

And Wright feels Arsenal could do a lot worse than giving the 46-year-old a chance to step up.

"I believe he is somebody that needs to go, at some stage, to the next level," Wright said on BBC Radio 5 live.

Asked by Monday Night Club host Mark Chapman if he would take Dyche as a replacement for the Frenchman, Wright said: "Yeah.

“The fact is would they give Sean Dyche that job?

"In respect to how his team sets up when they're defending, he's obviously got acumen - but will he get a job like that? I don't think he will."

Burnley have conceded just five goals so far this season compared to Arsenal’s eight and have lost just once - a 1-0 defeat at home to West Brom.

Wins at Everton and Chelsea and draws at Tottenham and Liverpool have caught the eye.

Although, Burnley’s defensive style, lack of possession football and Dyche’s inexperience on the big stage may deter Arsenal in the future.
