The Frenchman has found the back of the net four times in six league appearances for the Gunners, giving fans a chance to see his iconic “trumpet” celebration on more than one occasion.

And, during an interview with Arsenal Media this week, the former Atletico man opened up on the history behind the unique move.

“It was based on a bet with a friend of mine,” the 26-year-old explained.

Alexandre Lacazette revealed he has no idea how to play the trumpet

“[They] really like music that involves trumpets. It was a joke between the two of us.”

Lacazette was unlucky not to increase his tally to five against Brighton on Sunday after crashing the post with a thunderous drive from outside the box.

Regardless, his seamless adaptation into life in the Premier League should give Gunners supporters reason to be optimistic about the club’s chances of remaining competitive this season, despite recent questionable form.

“That’s how it all started, it was from a bet. I’ve just kept doing it and I like it,” Lacazette continued.

“The first time I did it [the celebration] was during a friendly, Lyon vs Sporting Lisbon, I believe.”

Thousands have seen the interview since it was posted on YouTube earlier this week – but supporters have spotted a problem with the prolific forward’s celebration.

“I don’t think he’s ever played a trumpet,” said one viewer.

“Because that is not even nearly correct.”

Another wrote: “Don't see how that hand and arm movement relates to a trumpet but I love you anyway, Laca!”
