Arsenal were battered 4-0 by Liverpool in August.

But since the humiliating defeat to Jurgen Klopp’s men, the Gunners have rallied.

They won three of their last four Premier League games and are unbeaten in seven matches.

Arsenal brushed aside Brighton 2-0 on Sunday.

And Cech has now warned City and United that the north Londoners are gunning for them.

"We have still to play City and United, so there will be opportunities to get closer to them," said Cech.

"But we have responded well to the disappointing defeat at Liverpool.

"Everybody has been doing their job and the positive results have given us the confidence we need.

"We are playing better as a team.

“We're covering our mistakes with our hard work and the cohesion and defensive attitude is there. This is the way to go forward."

Arsenal face Watford at Vicarage Road after the international break.

They currently sit fifth in the Premier League, nine points off pace setters City.
