That’s according to Spanish news outlet Deporte Valenciano who say his performances have been below par.

The 21-year-old has been criticised for a series of individualistic displays and lack of tracking back.

Deporte Valenciano say he’s also struggling to adjust to life back in Spain - despite spending last year with relegated Granada.

He made 35 appearances for Granada, scoring five goals as the Andalusian outfit ended the season managed by Tony Adams and rock bottom of the table.

Following a personally successful spell in Spain's top tier, Pereira was shipped out on loan to Valencia in the summer.

Valencia director Mateu Alemany has confirmed the Red Devils can recall him in January if needed.

He said: “I would not have made comments, but as the other club has done, I say that it is true that there is the option to recall him in conditions that I will keep confidential, but there is a compensation for Valencia.”

But speaking earlier this month Pereira admitted he didn’t know anything about a recall clause.

Pereira said: “I’m focused on Valencia, I want to be here and help Valencia all year, but I don’t know what Manchester United wants in the future.

“I want to help and do the best all year in Valencia.

“I don’t know, that’s (the clause) something between the clubs, I was told I was going to play here for a year and I don’t know about that clause.”

Since moving to Valencia, Pereira has made five appearances for the Spanish heavyweights.
