Despite the fact Romelu Lukaku is the top scorer on seven goals, the Manchester United striker doesn't make it into the statistic-based team of the season so far.

The starting XI, in a 4-4-2 formation, has been put together by WhoScored - the stats database who rate every Premier League performance out of 10 - and they've used the average scores from across the season so far to work out the best possible line-up.

Two of Lukaku's Old Trafford comrades do make the cut though - although perhaps not the players you might expect.

United's local rivals Manchester City dominate the line-up, with four of their key figures making it, while Tottenham, Chelsea, Huddersfield and Burnley stars also feature.

And clubs will be hoping their in-form stars don't come back from the current international break with any injury or fitness problems.
