Manchester United want to sign Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil

But Barcelona are also interested in the Germany international who is out of contract at the end of the current campaign.

Ozil previously worked with United boss Jose Mourinho during his time at Real Madrid.

The 28-year-old has been criticised for his form at Arsenal but it the Red Devils are ready to take a risk in signing the midfielder.

“A return to Real Madrid can be backed at 7/1. Premier League giants Chelsea and Man City are both priced at 9/1 to acquire Ozil, with Liverpool loitering at 12/1.”

Ozil has made five top flight appearances for the Gunners this season, but has yet to register a goal or an assist.

After the international break Arsenal return to action against Watford.

Arsene Wenger’s side are currently in fifth place, six points behind Manchester City and United who sit first and second.
