The Czech stopper is a star between the sticks on-pitch for the Gunners - and it turns out he’s got some hidden talents in the dressing room too.

Cech may not resemble a typical rapper, but Monreal reckons he dropped some serious lyrics during his Arsenal initiation ceremony.

"For my initiation, I had to sing, so I picked La Bamba, a Spanish song," Monreal, 31, told the official club website.

"I’m not sure who the best singer is but when Petr Cech had his initiation, he came up with this rap, where he picked out all of us and used our names.

"It was something different and everyone really enjoyed it."

Arsenal's Spanish left-back also revealed which sport he would have taken up had he not excelled at football.

"I love tennis, so I’d probably go with that, but I wouldn’t be able to play it professionally.

"I don’t play it a lot but I really enjoy it.

"My favourite tennis player is Rafael Nadal."

Monreal has been playing on the left side of Arsene Wenger's three man defence.

But one man who hasn't played for Arsenal in almost a year is his compatriot Santi Cazorla.

And when asked who he would pick to take a crucial penalty, he chose the diminutive midfielder.

"Me! No, I’d go for Santi Cazorla," he said.

"I’d be completely sure that he would score."
