Manchester United have rejected a first approach from Arsenal for forward Anthony Martial.

Reports claimed over the weekend that Arsene Wenger is targeting the France international to replace Alexis Sanchez.

But according to TransferMarketWeb, Arsenal have seen their efforts to sign the 21-year-old rebuffed.

United have no interest in losing the forward, who has started the season in top form.

And with Martial's contract expiring in 2019, it is said an extension to his current deal is likely this term.

Marc Overmars has agreed to return to Arsenal next summer.

TuttoMercatoWeb say the 44-year-old will leave his position as sporting director of Ajax at the end of the season.

And that will see him reunited with Arsene Wenger in north London.

Overmars will apparently begin work at the Emirates ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

All has been decided and he will say goodbye to Ajax next year.

Alexis Sanchez now has four clubs chasing his signature with Borussia Dortmund entering the hunt.

Arsenal's star forward is said to have offers on the table from Manchester City, PSG and Bayern Munich.

As no new deal is set to be signed at Arsenal, Sanchez will be free to pen a pre-contract with a foreign club from January.

Dortmund are ready to pursue the 28-year-old and see him as a replacement for Ousmane Dembele, following his big-money summer move to Barcelona.

However, Sanchez will only quit Arsenal for a club capable of winning trophies, meaning Dortmund may miss out.
