Don Hutchinson belives Manchester United can continue their impressive form against Liverpool

That is the verdict of pundit and former Liverpool player Don Hutchison.

The two sides meet on Saturday after starting the season in different runs of form.

Liverpool have struggled to contain opposition attacks so far this term, which has seen boss Jurgen Klopp come under-fire for failing to strengthen in the summer.

However, United are flying at present.

The Red Devils sit joint-top of the Premier League with rivals City and are unbeaten in all competitions.

And pundit Hutchinson believes United will continue their good form at Anfield this weekend, due to three reasons.

“The most important thing is to get crosses into the box,” Hutchison told ESPN.

“Liverpool do not defend well. There’s three or four players in the Man United team that are six-foot three, six-foot four.

“(Eric) Bailly at the back if he starts is very physical in the air, (Romelu) Lukaku through the middle, (Nemanja) Matic even coming from the centre of midfield.

“If you get wide, corners in the box, or free kicks, you’re going to be a threat.”

United star Romelu Lukaku has been in inspired form since signing from Everton in the summer.

Romelu Lukaku has been in fine form this season for Manchester United

While fellow summer signing Nemanja Matic is filling the void left by the injured Paul Pogba.

And Hutchinson believes the pair will make the difference on Saturday.

“The main threat for Manchester United is the guy that’s in unbelievable form,” the Scot added.

“Seven in seven, Romelu Lukaku. If he’s fit, he will be a massive weapon for Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp has faced criticism over his Liverpool defence

“He’s so strong, physically he can bully any centre-half. (Joel) Matip and (Dejan) Lovren will have a nightmare day playing against him. I imagine Lukaku to score at Anfield.

“The player who’s going to be missed by Manchester United is Marouane Fellaini,” he added.

“Out with a knee injury, he’s going to be missing for a couple of weeks. An ideal replacement is Ander Herrera on one side, with Nemanja Matic in the middle.

“He is going to be key if Manchester United are going to beat Liverpool away from home.

“You need a focal point, somebody that’s going to screen the two centre-halves, sit and protect, dictate the tempo of the game. There’s no better person than Matic.”
