That's the verdict of former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland defender Phil Babb ahead of Saturday's trip to Anfield.

United are second in the Premier League having collected 19 points from their opening seven games of the season.

The Red Devils have kept six clean sheets during that run, as well as smashing in 22 goals - the second-highest tally in the top flight so far.

United's performances represent a marked improvement from last term when they struggled to kill off their opposition and often drew.

Babb reckons they have Mourinho to thank for their impressive start to the campaign.

Babb told Sky Sports: "What Jose has done with that team is phenomenal. They just seem to want to score goals.

"They look fearless, they look like uncaged animals now.

Next up for Manchester United is Saturday's tip to face Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool at Anfield

"They are just going to get stronger and stronger, Manchester United, and I think they are going to be hard to stop in their title pursuit this season.

"I think they're right up for it this year, and Jose's 'second season syndrome' - he always wins a league title."

United can open up a 10-point gap to Liverpool with a win this weekend (kick-off 3pm).
