That is according to former Premier League star David Ginola.

The Reds forward suffered a hamstring injury while away on international duty this week.

And Liverpool have confirmed the Senegal star is set to be sidelined for up to six weeks.

That will see Jurgen Klopp be without Mane for games against the likes of United, Tottenham, West Ham, Sevilla and possibly Chelsea too.

The 25-year-old's importance to Liverpool going forward is unquestioned.

And Ginola highlights how the loss of Mane will impact heavily on the team.

“For Jurgen Klopp it’s a massive loss,” Ginola said on talkSPORT.

“On average Liverpool with Mane and without Mane, you can see the difference.

“The difference is massive, so you can’t at this stage lose a player like him.

“There’s not so many players out there that can make differences by themselves.

“Liverpool especially we talk a lot about (Philippe) Coutinho, Sadio Mane is another one.

“When you are Jurgen Klopp facing games like the ones coming up, very tricky, very important ones, you need your best assets to put into the starting XI.”

Liverpool cannot afford a defeat to United without Mane on Saturday (12.30pm).

Three points for the Red Devils would see them go 10 clear of their arch-rivals in the Premier League table after just eight games.
