The veteran Frenchman, who currently plays for Marseille, showed he’s handy with his legs in more way than one in an Instagram video uploaded this week.

Following in the footsteps of former team-mate Rio Ferdinand – who recently announced his intentions to challenge for a boxing title - Evra hit the gym to perfect his fighting technique.

The 36-year-old is renowned for his light-hearted social media posts, often showing himself singing along to popular songs or performing ridiculous dance moves.

But he was all business while working with a personal trainer in this short video, unleashing the sort of kicks that UFC star Conor McGregor would be proud of during a gruelling session.

Alongside former Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal striker Nicolas Anelka, Evra lets fly with 12 kicks with his fabled left foot in a matter of seconds.

He is then seen on a special machine used for timing the speed of footwork before he receives punches and kicks to his abdomen by a masked coach.

Evra wrote: "Always working hard, never complain. Getting stronger and stronger.

"In life if you failed you are the only one to blame... so get out your animal instinct and enjoy different types of training."

Red Devils legend Evra will no doubt be watching on as Jose Mourinho’s men take on Liverpool in the Premier League’s early kick-off this Saturday.

Despite United’s unbeaten start to the season, bookmakers Betfair make Liverpool the favourites heading into the clash this weekend at 6/4.

United can be backed to upset the Anfield home crowd at 15/8.
