Manchester United ace Juan Mata has rejected a move to the Chinese Super League

The Spaniard has reportedly been approached by officials from certain clubs in the Far East about a move.

But the Mirror say Mata has no interest in leaving Old Trafford at this stage in his career.

The midfielder is set to have a one-year extension triggered in his current contract which is worth £165,000-a-week.

Ander Herrera’s deal expires at the end of the season along with Mata but United have the option to activate a clause which will keep them both at the club for a further year.

Jose Mourinho still has faith in Herrera despite the 28-year-old struggling for playing time so far this season.

The midfielder has been down the pecking order since the arrival of Nemanja Matic from Chelsea.

Herrera could feature at Anfield against Liverpool on Saturday though with Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini out because of injury.

Mata recently talked about his best position and where he would ideally like to play for Manchester United.

“Let's say offensive midfielder,” he said.

“But, obviously, I am playing more now on the right wing, when I try to come inside and create space for my team mates...

“It's this kind of freedom that allows me to be in touch with the ball, that's where I feel comfortable...

“I consider myself as this kind of attacking midfielder, trying to find the gaps between the opposition midfielders and defenders and produce what the team needs between the lines.”

United return to Premier League action on Saturday at 12.30pm when they take on Liverpool at Anfield.
