Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho may take a more cautious approach against Liverpool

Manchester United have been unstoppable this season, with summer signing Romelu Lukaku spearheading an attack that has scored 21 goals in an unbeaten Premier League start.

But former manager Dalglish believes Mourinho may instruct his players to be more conservative at Anfield and play for the draw, as they did last season.

He said to Mirror Sport: “I’m sure he will be cautious again because this is United’s first game against one of the so-called top six.

“With respect to other Premier League teams, these are the games that might decide who lifts the trophy in May.

“Mourinho has a knack of knowing how to win games, and if he thinks his best chance is to shut up shop, he’s entitled to do that - but for us, Jurgen Klopp will be the complete opposite.

“He’s not interested in a draw, he only wants a victory.”

Liverpool have had 120 shots in their last seven games, but have only managed to score seven goals, winning once in that time.

Jurgen Klopp blames luck and Dalglish believes he will continue to attack teams in the hope that their fortunes will turn around.

Dalglish added: “That suits everyone at Liverpool - players, fans, himself - because that’s why he was asked to take on the job in the first place.

“I’m sure the fans are more than happy with what he’s done and they will want him to continue with the same attacking intent.”

The Reds have struggled for goals in recent games but Dalglish believes their attacking options are just as good as Man Utd's, while Simon Mignolet deserves more credit.

Dalglish will have a stand named after him at Anfield in a special ceremony tomorrow and fellow Liverpool legends have been honouring him.

Former captain Steven Gerrard said: ""Kenny Dalglish is a hero to me and my family, a role model who I have always looked up to and tried to follow. A man who deserves the title 'King Kenny'."

Liverpool are seven points behind second-placed Manchester United but are just a point behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

Last season, both meetings between the two sides ended in a draw, while Klopp has only lost once to Mourinho in seven matches.

They meet in the first Premier League clash of the weekend on Saturday (12.30pm).
