The Red Devils will resume their Premier League campaign after the international break by facing their fiercest rivals.

Last season Jose Mourinho well and truly parked the bus at Anfield and took back a 0-0 draw, before the pair drew 1-1 in the return at Old Trafford.

But with United’s imperious early season form, the Portuguese tactician will think he has a much better chance of winning this time around, especially with only two teams having conceded more than the Reds so far.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo remain long-term injury absentees, while Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini are both out too.

Michael Carrick is also unlikely to feature, although Phil Jones is expected to recover from the knock that kept him out of England’s final two World Cup qualifiers.

United are currently second in the Premier League table, behind Manchester City on goal difference.
