The Frenchman has been out since September 12 after pulling his hamstring against Basel in the Champions League.

But The Independent report that Pogba could be fit and ready to return for the Carabao Cup match at Swansea on October 24.

Jose Mourinho was initially concerned that the former Juventus man’s injury could be long-term but the 24-year-old is recovering well.

If Pogba did return for the match against Swansea, he would in contention to face Tottenham at Old Trafford on October 28.

The France international had been in fine form for United before suffering the injury, netting twice and providing two assists in just four Premier League appearances.

The Red Devils will not have Pogba available as the Premier League returns this Saturday though.

Jose Mourinho’s side travel to Anfield to take on arch rivals Liverpool.

The Reds are currently seven points behind Manchester United who are in second place with Manchester City ahead on goal difference.

The Red Devils have been impressive so far this season, winning six of their seven matches and scoring 21 goals in the process.

After the match with Liverpool, United return to Champions League action against Benfica.

One positive piece of injury news for Mourinho is that Romelu Lukaku is expected to be fit to take on Jurgen Klopp's side.
