Antonio Conte was raging with his Chelsea players after they flopped at Crystal Palace

Roy Hodgson's basement dwellers went into Saturday's clash without a point or a goal.

But they broke their Premier League duck through a Cesar Azpilicueta own goal before Wilfried Zaha scored the winner in a 2-1 victory over champions Chelsea.

The Blues have now lost three of their opening eight matches and already trail leaders Manchester City by nine points.

And Conte was left raging in the dressing room at Selhurst Park.

According to The Telegraph, Conte tore into his squad in the immediate aftermath of the game.

The emotional Italian is said to of accused his players of taking their foot off the gas against Palace.

And Chelsea's stars were warned they must work harder to enjoy success domestically and in Europe this term.

The Blues are struggling to deal with the increased workload so far, with injuries taking their toll.

Since Saturday, The Telegraph add Conte has been in a dark mood and feels his worst fears over the consequences of their disappointing summer transfer window are coming true.

Chelsea have the chance to bounce back on Wednesday when they host Roma in the Champions League.

The Serie A side travel to Stamford Bridge with their own injury issues as Roma will apparently only have 14 senior players available.

Conte, meanwhile, will be able to welcome back striker Alvaro Morata following his hamstring problem.
