Sam Allardyce has been made the early favourite to take over at Leicester

Paddy Power are offering 21/10 odds on the former England manager to take over at the King Power Stadium.

Alladyce, who ruled himself out of the Scotland job earlier this month, has said he would be willing to get back into management.

He said: "You've always got to have someone else to want you to get a job.

"At this moment in time I would be very picky and choosy about any potential managerial jobs if I was to go back in, so that makes it very difficult.

"You never know what might come up, but if it is something where I could bring a lot of success then I could be interested."

Other contenders to take control of the Foxes are Chris Coleman, whose future as Wales boss is unclear, with Paddy Power offering 7/2 odds.

The betting company have also made Roberto Mancini 12/1 to take over, the Italian has not managed in England since his stint with Manchester City.

Former Crystal Palace and Newcastle boss Alan Pardew, who has not had a job since December 2016, has been made 9/1 whilst Premier League-winning manager Claudio Ranieri is offered 20/1 odds by Paddy Power to make a sensational return.

Shakespeare became the second managerial scalp of the season after a poor run of form leaving Leicester in the relegation zone early this season.

He had been in permanent charge for four months after initially taking over on an interim basis from Italian Ranieri.
