Real Madrid regret not selling Gareth Bale to Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho revealed his desire to land the 28-year-old last summer but the United boss called a deal ‘mission impossible’.

Bale ended up staying at Real and has netted three goals and provided three assists in seven appearances under Zinedine Zidane this season.

However, according to Spanish outlet Diario Gol, Real wish they’d sold Bale in the summer and club president Florentino Perez is keen to get rid of him as soon as possible.

Andy Cole is looking forward to Zlatan Ibrahimovic's United return after seeing his progress at first hand.

The Red Devils legend said: "He is doing very good. I had a chat with Zlatan when he was in the gym the other day.

"I think he is looking forward to coming back, most probably in December or January time. I think he will definitely bring something to the football team, as we already know.

"After last season, he was fantastic. It will be nice to see him back when he returns."

Nemanja Matic says Jose Mourinho is not always easy to work with but insists the Special One is the best boss he’s played under.

Matic said: "Mourinho is a brand, and the best coach I've ever worked with.

"Sometimes it isn't easy to work with him, because he always demands more.

"Even when you play the best match in your career, he considers that you can play better in the next match.

"He has created an excellent group of players with huge potential, and everything is there for us to achieve good results.”
