Wilshere had a hand in the Gunners’ 86th minute winner, knocking a first-time lofted through ball to Theo Walcott to set up Olivier Giroud’s impressive overhead kick.

It was Wilshere’s fourth appearance of the season in an Arsenal shirt after returning from injury – and it was inarguably his most impressive.

He patrolled the midfield, offering both creativity in his passing and defensive resilience in the tackle leaving pundits raving over his performance.

Jermaine Jenas hailed Jack Wilshere's performance against Red Star Belgrade last night

“In terms of quality, he stood out like a sore thumb,” Jermaine Jenas said on BT Sport.

“He’s got real quality… his delivery of passes, he’s always trying to draw the defender in to make something happen.

“He’s not that quick but he has this real ability to ghost past players.”

Wilshere was making his fourth performance of the season after coming back from injury

Former Arsenal captain Martin Keown doubled down on Jenas’ praise, claiming the former Bournemouth man has vision that “mere mortals can only dream of”.

“It's a platform for Wilshere to prove fitness and ability,” Keown continued.

“The saying behind scenes is that Jack is playing better than ever in training.”

The Gunners travel to Goodison Park this weekend to take on struggling Everton.
