The Toffees today confirmed they have parted company with the Dutchman after a horror start to the season.

Everton find themselves in the relegation zone after nine Premier League games.

Koeman splashed the cash in the summer, spending around £140m in the transfer window but the Toffees struggled to find form.

A statement from Everton said: “Everton Football Club can confirm that Ronald Koeman has left the club.

“Chairman Bill Kenwright, the board of directors and major shareholder Farhad Moshiri would all like to express their gratitude to Ronald for the service he has given to the club over the past 16 months and for guiding the Club to seventh place in last season’s Premier League campaign.”

And the bookies have Toffees Under-21 boss David Unsworth as the 3/1 favourite to replace Koeman.

Ex-Everton chief David Moyes is next in line at 4/1, with odds on Burnley’s Sean Dyche joining at 8/1.

Sam Allardyce, Carlo Ancelotti and Chris Coleman are also in the running for the vacant job at Goodison Park.

Everton are back in action on Wednesday night when the Toffees face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.
