Danny Welbeck could return for Arsenal against Hull - Wenger

Arsene Wenger says Danny Welbeck could be ready to make his first appearance of the season in Arsenal's FA Cup game against Hull next weekend.

Welbeck has been sidelined since last April with a serious knee injury but played 60 minutes for Arsenal's under-21s last week, and Wenger says the forward has stepped up his recovery further in training this week.

While he won't be ready for Sunday's crucial Premier League game against Leicester, Welbeck could be in the squad for the Hull game.

"He is now back to full power in training. It is a big possibility [he could be involved against Hull next week,]" Wenger told Arsenal's website. "We gave him one or two days' recovery after the U21 game, but now he is back in full training. He has worked very hard and he is fit."

Wenger said there were no new injuries to report ahead of the Leicester game, with Tomas Rosicky, Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla the only players still in the treatment room.

Mohamed Elneny missed last weekend's win at Bournemouth as his wife gave birth, but should be available again. Wilshere and Cazorla are expected back sometime in March, and Wenger said both players are progressing well.

"It is a similar squad available to last week, we are still early in the week but we should have everyone available. Of course Rosicky [is out], and Wilshere is not ready. But everyone else should be available," Wenger said.

"They are back running, they are on a fitness programme now so it means it is not a question of months anymore, it is a question of weeks for them to be back."
