Arsenal and Cologne to help scout each other for Europa League clashes

Arsenal and Cologne have agreed to share information on each other ahead of their Europa League matches to help their scouting departments.

The clubs were drawn together in Group H and are set to meet at the Emirates Stadium on Sept. 14 in what will be the Bundesliga side's first European match in 25 years, and on Sunday they agreed to share scouting information to facilitate the match preparation.

Discussing his trip to Liverpool at the weekend, Cologne assistant coach Manfred Schmid told Bild: "We had a very good talk and a nice exchange of ideas. We will receive videos from Arsenal matches in the next couple of days, and we'll supply them with our material."

Schmid said the arrangement is "easier for both sides," adding: "You can't stop opponents getting footage through other clubs or platforms these days, and so this just simplifies the match preparation."

Cologne and Arsenal will also meet Red Star Belgrade and BATE Borisov in Group H.
