Jose Mourinho displeased with Danny Rose challenge on Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Jose Mourinho said he was "not happy" with Danny Rose's challenge on Henrikh Mkhitaryan which led to the Armenia international being carried off on a stretcher on Sunday with an ankle injury.

Mkhitaryan had scored the only goal of the game for Manchester United against Tottenham Hotspur when he was forced off at Old Trafford --- but his teammates went on to win 1-0. The attacking midfielder will miss Wednesday's game away against Crystal Palace though due to the injury he sustained.

Mourinho told reporters: "I am not happy but it is football and sometimes you go over the limit in a big match.

"The referee [Robert Madley] did very well and I am happy for him because normally these matches are given to the ref with more experience, more status. I think, for him, it was the biggest match he had refereed in the Premier League.

"He did very well and probably he wanted to finish the game without a red card. He gave a yellow card and, for me, that's fine."

Despite the dissatisfaction with the challenge, Mourinho has said that he wants to "move on" from the incident. The Portuguese said: "When everything ends well, like with Mkhi, not having a big injury, let's move on. It was a big game, hard and sometimes a bit nasty, but it was a game for men."

Rose was also singled out by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger last month for a "very strong tackle" on Hector Bellerin, during the sides' 1-1 draw, which led to the Spaniard sustaining an ankle injury.
