West Ham and Spurs charged by FA over melee in London Stadium derby

The Football Association has charged West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur with failing to control their players during Saturday's Premier League match at the London Stadium.

Spurs won 3-2, having led by three goals at one stage, but finished a feisty London derby with 10 men after Serge Aurier picked up two second-half bookings for fouls on the home side's Andy Carroll.

And with West Ham pushing for an equaliser in injury time, defender Winston Reid clashed with Fernando Llorente, sparking a melee in which all 21 remaining players were involved.

"West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur have been charged by the FA following their fixture on Saturday," an FA statement said.

"It is alleged that in or around the 95th minute of the game, both clubs failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion."

Both clubs have until 6 p.m. on Sept. 28 to respond to the charge.
