Andre Santos and Dani Alves planning football agency partnership

Former Arsenal and Brazil defender Andre Santos has told ESPN Brasil that he plans to become a football agent in partnership with Dani Alves when he retires.

Santos, 34, is currently captain of Boluspor in the Turkish second tier and has two years left on his current contract, but he is already thinking about what he will do when he finishes playing.

"I have lots of good contacts in Spain, England, Portugal, Turkey and Brazil," he said. "Now I have Dani Alves as my partner and we're working together. The agents at Flashforward are taking care of my career, and the company is growing. I'm making new contacts for them, as I know lots of important people in the football world.

"A friend of mine, who works as sporting director for an important European club, told me the other day: 'Andre, you have to use your contacts and influence while you're still playing. After you retire, all of them will forget your phone number.'

"I also think about working as director at a club after I retire. The president of Fenerbahce is always asking my opinion about their new signings and players they have their eye on. I think I have all it takes to be successful in the line of work."

Santos said he is unclear where he will be based.

"I really like Florianopolis, but my business will determine where I'll live," he said. "If I keep working alongside Daniel Alves, maybe I'll move to Barcelona. If I decide to open an office in Turkey, I'll live in Istanbul. I already have to offices in Sao Paulo. There are lots of options ... But I still don't know."
