Jurgen Klopp admits scoring three goals at Arsenal should be enough to win, but did not put the goals Liverpool conceded in the 3-3 draw at the Emirates Stadium down to collective poor defending.
Liverpool dropped a 2-0 lead in the second half in London on Friday night and were down 3-2 until Roberto Firmino's 71st-minute equaliser.
Philippe Coutinho and Mohamed Salah put the visitors two goals up before a three-goal flourish, starting in the 53rd minute, from Alexis Sanchez, Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil put Arsenal ahead.
"Usually at Arsenal, you come here and get a point -- that's OK. [But] after that game, give me a few minutes until I get that," Klopp told Sky Sports. "To be honest, I think three goals at Arsenal should be enough. I know we usually need four or something like that.
"It was not defending. They had these three situations -- maybe one more -- when they came up in the game and we gave them the opportunity.
"We defended, most of the time, pretty well. We didn't take any risks for creating our chances. We were not open, we didn't give any space away.
"The performance was good. You come here to a team with fantastic players in a good moment and you have them where we had them. That's good. We cannot expect that we use all chances.
"Today, for sure, we could have scored one, two, maybe three more. It sounds crazy, I know, but those who saw it agrees."
Friday night's result keeps Liverpool in the top four, but also means they have now drawn eight matches in the Premier League this season -- joint-most in the league alongside 19th-placed West Bromwich Albion.
"I think we should have won today -- how [it is] with all of the games," Klopp added. "People will start talking about defending again, but defending is a team thing.
"We made individual mistakes and that's not cool. Unfortunately three of them in one game. That gave Arsenal the chance to come back in the game.
"My job is to think about our performance, and our performance was a winning performance. That's the most important thing. The consistency in performances is really good so far.
"We will carry on. In the moment, it's very disappointing and I'm angry about it, but the bad thing is that I cannot change it anymore for tonight. I have to take the good things and we have to work on the less good things."
