Man United boss Jose Mourinho: Eric Bailly has injured his other knee

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has said the injury suffered by Eric Bailly in the win at Crystal Palace was not a recurrence of the problem that sidelined him earlier this season.

Bailly, 22, made his first start for almost two months at Selhurst Park.

But he suffered an injury shortly before half-time and was withdrawn from the action soon after the start of the second half.

He had suffered an injury to his right knee in the October defeat at Chelsea and made his return in the Europa League win over Zorya Luhansk last week.

But Mourinho told BT Sport: "It is not the same knee -- it is the other one. It is the left knee. So he is not coming back to a previous injury.

"Of course he has a problem but he showed amazing character to try and try and try until his limit."

The manager later told MUTV: "I don't know really what he has, but let us wait and see."
