Man United boss Jose Mourinho asks for 'a little bit of credit' for record

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has again questioned criticism of his playing style.

Mourinho heads back to Chelsea on Sunday with many expecting that he will again set his team up defensively against big-six rivals.

But he still believes he is unfairly singled out and does not get the credit he deserves for his trophy haul, and pointed to Tottenham's recent displays.

"What is for you magic? What is for you phenomenal? The way Tottenham played against Real Madrid?" he told reporters at his prematch news conference.

"I think recently I saw some team play exactly that way and it was negative. I saw a team play exactly that way -- defending, pressing, controlling all the penetration.

"Playing with five at the back, getting the full-backs forward, getting the ball, going forward in quick transitions, attacking the last defensive line.

"I think recently I watched a match like that but it was not on TV. It was close, it was on the touchline."

He added: "I think that probably 25 trophies is the line that people made about a successful manager. For some managers they still need to win one more trophy to reach that 25 level.

"Some others need 25 trophies to reach that level. Some others need four. Some others, they need 12. Some others, they need 15. Some others need 24.

"I have 25 but I still need one more. So maybe when I win one more trophy than 25 I have a little bit of credit but that's not a problem.

"Am I frustrated? No. It's just a difficult week. Big matches, injuries, tired -- just normal."
