Ozil admitted he played through the pain barrier during Arsenal's clash with Bayern Munich this week after picking up a hamstring strain in the second minute.

And with Wenger admitting after the game the injury was "serious", he has now admitted his £42.5million star man could be missing for up to SIX weeks.

"We lose Ozil, who has been injured for Sunday, I don't know how long he will be out but it looks a minimum of three weeks," Wenger said.

"When the minimum is three, the maximum is six. I am not specialist enough to know, [but] it is a grade two hamstring [tear], so let's say four weeks."

"It is of course a blow, but I am confident we have the quality to deal without him (Ozil). We have many creative players who can take over to produce quality performances."
