ARSENE WENGER has warned his Arsenal side to watch out for ex-Chelsea man Romelu Lukaku as the Gunners prepare to take on Everton this weekend.

The giant Belgium international played a key role in Arsenal’s 3-0 defeat at Goodison Park last season, with Roberto Martinez deploying the striker on the right wing in a forward three.

Left-footed Lukaku ran riot as he cut inside from the flanks, and Gunners fans will be saying a prayer or two for Nacho Monreal, who is set to deputise for the injured Kieran Gibbs.

Lukaku joined the Toffees in a surprise £28million move from Jose Mourinho’s side, but Wenger believes the youngster has all the qualities to become a world-class centre-forward.

Speaking about Lukaku’s move to Everton, Wenger said: “It was a surprise. But that’s the price to be for ambition these days.

“They are ambitious. It makes the league even more interesting.

“I like him very much. He has a good mixture of physical presence and technical quality.

“I also like his attitude. His attitude is full of energy and desire, and it plays a big part in the success of a centre forward.”
