Arsene Wenger: Arsenal will beat Man Utd if we score first

ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger believes whoever scores first in Monday night’s trip to Manchester United (7:45pm) will progress to the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

The Gunners travel to Old Trafford looking to continue their FA Cup defence and are in good form to do so, having won four of the last five away outings.

It will be decided by who scores the first goal

And Wenger believes it will be a very similar contest to his side’s 2-0 win at Manchester City in January, where they pulled off a superb defensive performance after taking the lead in the 24th minute.

“It will be decided by who scores the first goal,” Wenger said.

“Because [like at] Manchester City we scored first, then we were more on the defensive.

“What is for sure is you need a winner after the game, so that means both teams will go for it.

“We will have to attack well and defend well on both sides.”
