WATCH: Jose Mourinho SLAMS Chelsea star Eden Hazard for being SELFISH

EDEN HAZARD came under fire from Jose Mourinho back in August last year - before going on to win the PFA Player of the season.

Hazard not a team player - Mourinho

Mourinho claimed Hazard wasn't ready to sacrifice himself for the team and didn't have the mentality to cover his full-backs.

Hazard was blamed for allowing Adrian Lopez to equalise for Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semi-final before the Spaniards went on to win 3-1 at Stamford Bridge, knocking the Blues out.

"Eden is the kind of player that is not so mentally ready to look back to his left-back and to leave his life for him," Mourinho said at the time.

"If you see the first goal of Atletico you understand where the mistake was and why we concede that goal.

"The perfect team at the top level cannot make this kind of mistake, because normally in this game if you get to half time at 1-0, the game is another game because Atletico has to chase the game.

"So when the comments come from a player like Eden it's normal because he is not the kind of player ready to sacrifice himself 100 per cent for the team and for the mates.

"No, I'm not happy, I speak to him all season and try to improve him all season."

Jose Mourinho called Eden Hazard selfish after his performances last season

However the Portuguese has been insistent that Hazard was the only choice for the Player of the Year award after an inspiring season.

Hazard has helped Chelsea lead the Premier League by ten points with five games to play.

The Blues need five points to seal the title.

And Mourinho now thinks the Belgium winger is worth £200million - plus one of Real Madrid's key men.

Last week he was asked if £100m would be enough for Chelsea to part with Hazard, and he said: "Plus one of their [Real's] three best players.

"£100m each leg - he's very young."

Player Profile Eden Hazard

Hazard signed for Chelsea in 2012 for £32m and signed a new five-year deal at the club this season, making him the highest paid player at Stamford Bridge.

He has scored 13 league goals and five in other competitions this season.

On Sunday he was named the PFA Player of the Year ahead of Harry Kane and David de Gea and is set to add a Premier League title to the League Cup Chelsea won earlier this season.

Not bad for someone not ready to sacrifice himself for his team-mates.
