Zoran Mamic oversaw Zagreb's win against Arsenal last night

Dinamo Zagreb did "nothing new" in beating Arsene Wenger's Arsenal in the Champions League last night.

That is a claim of Zagreb manager Zoran Mamic, who insisted after their 2-1 home victory that the formula for overcoming Arsenal is a simple one.

"Arsenal is one of the best teams who ever played here and they did exactly what we agreed they would do," said Mamic.

"We thought it would be very important to close the middle, to stop the fast passes.

"That's what we did and it's nothing new. We have already seen other teams who beat Arsenal use the same tactics. This is a good way to beat them.

"Arsenal has top four top international players, and other top players compared to Dinamo, but they are not world class.

"We just concentrated in not letting them come to the ball. It was probably one our best games tactically."

However, there is good news for Arsenal ahead of their Premier League clash with Chelsea on Saturday (12.45).

For Blues manager Jose Mourinho has revealed both Willian and Pedro will miss the game at Stamford Bridge.

Willian was subbed off with a muscle problem early in Chelsea's 4-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv last night, while Pedro sat out the game having been withdrawn in their 3-1 loss at Everton at the weekend.

“Willian is out for sure, I think Pedro is out for sure. I prefer problems when players are playing well than problems when players are playing badly,” Mourinho said.

Karim Benzema - Spotlight On

Meanwhile, Arsenal's failed pursuit of Karim Benzema has been slammed by BT Sport pundit and former Gunners striker Ian Wright.

Arsenal failed to land Benzema as Real Madrid stood firm on their £45million valuation of the France international.

And the club ended the transfer window as the only side in Europe's top five leagues not to sign an outfield player.

"I thought the Benzema situation was embarrassing in the way they pursued it," Wright told BT Sport.

"Trying to get a player like that, straight off the bat you have to find out if they're interested in coming. If they're interested, you pursue it.

"I thought [the way] they dealt with it was pretty bad, and the way he mugged Arsenal off on Twitter by saying Madrid is his home wasn't great."
