Jose Mourinho's feud with Arsene Wenger continues as he attacks Arsenal boss yet again

THEY just cannot let it lie. Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger have been at each other's throats once again.

Jose Mourinho has launched another attack at Arsenal boss Arsenal Wenger

And the Chelsea manager has a whole load of toys to tidy up this morning before his match at Newcastle. And it is just not fair.

"He can speak about referees before the game, after the game, can push people in the technical area, can moan, can cry in the morning, in the afternoon - and nothing happens."

It was playground stuff yet again yesterday as Mourinho launched into another extraordinary attack on Arsene Wenger; the man, according to the Chelsea boss, who is untouchable.

"In this country, only one manager is not under pressure. Every other manager is," said Mourinho.

Mourinho labelled Arsene Wenger as the only manager who gets away with criticising referees

"I am under pressure, Steve McClaren at Newcastle is under pressure, Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City is under pressure, Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool too. We cannot be below par. We have to meet the objectives. I have sympathy with all of them, because it's a difficult job.

"There's one outside of that list, but good for him. He [Wenger] cannot achieve but can keep his job, still be the king. Why it is this way? That is a good question. I don't have a theory. I just have a reality. Just something that is real and objective.

"If I speak about the referee, I am suspended. If I push a manager in the technical area, I am banned from the stadium. If I speak about players from other clubs and ask for suspensions, I am in trouble. So, clearly, the facts are there. I don't envy."

Last Saturday, Chelsea beat nine-man Arsenal 2-0. Gunners defender Gabriel was shown a straight red card for kicking out at Diego Costa. That red card was rescinded by the FA, although yesterday the defender was banned for one match after being charged with improper conduct for failing to leave the field.

Costa has also been retrospectively banned for three games for slapping and shoving over Laurent Koscielny.

So an infuriated Mourinho let rip once again.

He and Wenger have a long history of bust ups. Mourinho once infamously branded Wenger a "voyeur" and last October the Frenchman shoved his Portuguese rival in the technical area at Stamford Bridge.

Wenger avoided any punishment for the shove on his rival last October, because he apologised for his actions at the time, though Mourinho insisted that things would have been different had roles been reversed.

And still enraged by the FA's decision this week to rescind Gabriel's red card for retaliation against Costa, he added: "In the rules book it says some managers can speak about the referees before and after games. Some others cannot.

"I am in the list of those who are punished if they speak about the referees before the game. I have to stick to that rule book. It is an imaginary list but clearly it is there."

There was hardly signs of adult behaviour at Arsenal yesterday either, with Wenger taking a thinly veiled swipe at Mourinho, insinuating that his success was actually down to previous manager Claudio Ranieri.

"When Claudio left Chelsea he had built the team that was so successful at the start," said Wenger. "I remember them finishing second in the league with Ranieri and they were on the way up when he left, so yes, he built the foundations. He did a great job.

"The team was upcoming with young players like John Terry and Frank Lampard who were the players that contributed to the success of Chelsea. They already had Marcel Desailly and William Gallas - they had a very strong team. I think Ranieri deserves a lot of respect."

Something Mourinho's opposite number today, Steve McLaren, has a fight on his hands to earn.

Four straight defeats - three on home soil - have shattered any feel-good factor his appointment and a £50million spending spree might have created.

Such is the mood of despair in the stands that director Lee Charnley yesterday felt it necessary to email the club's season-ticket holders apologising for the wretched start.
