Gibbs, normally a left back, will come in for Joel Campbell in one of two changes from the Swansea clash.

Mathieu Debuchy will also replace Hector Bellerin, who is out injured.

Campbell, the Costa Rica winger, scored against Swansea but is likely to be on the bench with Gibbs a more defensive option.

That was Campbell's first Premier League start for the club after looking like leaving in the summer.

He came in with Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey all out injured.

Arsenal stunned Bayern two weeks ago at the Emirates and Arsene Wenger admits they will need a similar performance to come away with anything from Munich.

“We need to give a similar performance to when we played in the first game,” said Wenger.

“I expect Bayern to play offensively and try to put us under pressure.

“We have won everywhere in Europe and we will try to win this game.”
